The 2010 Baxter Auto Part Portland Historic Races will be held at Portland International Raceway on July 9-11. The weekend’s event annually features an entry of more than 250 historic race cars, representing a wide variety of manufacturers. The restored cars are divided into groups according to make, age and horsepower, where they are raced at high speeds close to or at their full potential.
The Porsche Museum has announced an exhibition honoring the 60th anniversary of Porsche in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. The beginnings and the ongoing development of production at Zuffenhausen will be presented in a series of photographs. The exhibition will run from 20 March to 9 May 2010. The first Porsche 356 Coupé built in Zuffenhausen has been restored and will be shown for the first time as part of the exhibit.

The CSI introduced new rules regarding engine capacity for the 1972 European Championship for Formula 2 season. The maximum displacement was increased to 2-liters. After deciding that F5000 wasn’t worth the effort, John Surtees created the TS10 for the 1972 European Championship for Formula 2 cars.
After the late 70s energy crunch, increasing safety and emission requirements and rising fuel cost, Ford turned to its profitable European operations for the way forward. Walter Hayes moved from the UK to Dearborn to run the company’s public relations.
