A friend sent these great drawings.  His style reminds me of artwork published in Sports Car Graphic magazine in the 60s.

The 1974 German Grand Prix was the third formula one race I attended at the Nürburgring. Each time, I explored the track for sections where the cars went airborne. On Saturday, August 3rd I spent the morning between Brunchen and Pflanzgarten. In the Pflanzgarten section a drop in elevation caused the cars to fly.

A Grand Reopening for the Portland International Raceway was held on a rare clear day this past February. The event was organized by Friends of PIR , Pro Drive and the Porsche Club to celebrate a $2 million dollar repaving project. In addition to the repaving, turns 6 and 7 were reprofiled.

After opening remarks by Mark Wigginton, Track Manager, and others there was a ribbon cutting ceremony and the track was opened for the spectators to take a walking lap of the track.  After lunch sponsored by Friends of PIR, the track was available for pace laps to anyone making a $10 donation to Friends of PIR. On Sunday the Oregon Region of the Porsche Club of America sponsored a track day.
